Miranda Kerr and Miranda Kerr Husband, Evan Spiegel were first spotted holding hands in Los Angeles back in June 2015. Can you believe it? They actually started out as friends! It all began when they met at a Louis Vuitton dinner in 2014 and hit it off. Their connection grew stronger, and before you know it, they were engaged in July 2016. A year later, they had a beautiful, intimate backyard wedding ceremony.
Now, Kerr and Miranda Kerr Husband, have two adorable sons together, Hart and Myles, and they’re even expecting another little one. How exciting is that? Miranda shared the news on Snapchat, showing off her baby bump and revealing it’s another boy!
But here’s something really great about this couple. They also co-parent Miranda’s son Flynn with her ex-husband Orlando Bloom and his fiancée Katy Perry. Evan really admires the co-parenting relationship Miranda and Orlando have built, and he’s proud to be part of “Team Flynn.” It’s all about that love and support!
You might not see them on the red carpet often because they prefer to keep a low profile. Quality time with family is their top priority. They love doing yoga, meditating, and enjoying each other’s company at home. Going out? Not really their thing!
So, who is Miranda Kerr husband? Let’s dive into everything you need to know about Evan Spiegel and his wonderful relationship with the model-turned-wellness pro.
He grew up in the Los Angeles area
Spiegel was actually born and raised in Pacific Palisades, California. According to Forbes, he’s the eldest child of John W. Spiegel and Melissa Ann Thomas, both of whom are lawyers.
Even though he grew up in a family of lawyers, this entrepreneur had an early interest in technology. He attended the Crossroads School for Arts and Sciences, a K-12 college preparatory school, where he even built his first computer in the sixth grade.
During his high school years, Spiegel also took design classes at the Otis College of Art and Design and the Art Centre College of Art and Design, as mentioned in Business of Fashion.
Miranda Kerr Husband attended Stanford University
After graduating from Crossroads, Spiegel actually went to Stanford University – his father’s alma mater. According to Business of Fashion, he decided to major in product design and gained some real-world experience by interning for Red Bull’s sales department. He also worked for a software company called Intuit.
In his sophomore year at Stanford, Spiegel moved into the Kappa Sigma fraternity house. And guess what? That’s where he met his future business partners, Bobby Murphy and Reggie Brown. Can you believe it? Together, they came up with the initial idea for Snapchat.
Now, here’s the interesting part. Spiegel dropped out of Stanford to fully focus on the social media app. But don’t worry, he eventually finished his degree in 2018, according to a Forbes profile. Pretty cool, huh?
He’s the co-founder and CEO of Snapchat
So, here’s the story: Spiegel and his two fraternity brothers actually started Snapchat under the name Picaboo back in July 2011, as reported by the Los Angeles Times. But, guess what? Another company had the same name, so they had to make some changes. Brown got kicked out of the company, and that’s when Spiegel and Murphy decided to relaunch as Snapchat in September 2011.
Now, Spiegel is the big boss as the CEO of Snapchat, while Murphy holds the title of Chief Technology Officer. You know their company by that iconic yellow ghost logo, the 24-hour photo expiration thing, and those cool custom geofilters.
Fast forward to March 2017, Spiegel took Snapchat public and launched Snap Inc. on the New York Stock Exchange. The shares were selling at $24 each! Kerr, being the supportive wife she is, even made an Instagram post to congratulate her love and Snap Inc. You can check it out here.
Pretty cool, right?
He met Kerr at a dinner
During an interview with Vogue Australia in July 2022, the couple spilled the beans about the first time they met. They ended up at a Louis Vuitton dinner at the Museum of Modern Art in New York City, and guess what? They were seated right next to each other!
Spiegel recalled the night, saying, “I had a great time at dinner with this amazing woman, but I didn’t think I had a chance at all. So, I gave her my number, thinking I could help her with some tech stuff since she was moving into a new house. I never expected to hear back. But then, about a month later, she was in Asia, and I woke up one morning, grabbed my phone, and there it was – a text from her! I couldn’t believe it!”
At the time, Kerr had been separated from her ex-husband, Bloom, for over a year and wasn’t really a believer in love anymore. But as fate would have it, she and Spiegel hit it off as friends, and their relationship naturally blossomed from there.
Kerr shared, “He was so patient with me. We took things slow, building a strong friendship before diving into a romantic relationship. I never even thought this kind of love was possible.”
She continued, “Meeting someone you connect with on such a deep level, someone who is constantly working on themselves just like you are, striving to be the best partner, the best parent, always wanting to grow and evolve – that’s something we both value and are committed to. It’s truly incredible to have a partner who wants to grow with you in the same direction.”
They married in 2017
Spiegel popped the question to Kerr in July 2016, and she happily exclaimed “I said yes!!!” on Instagram, flaunting a dazzling engagement ring captured with a custom Snapchat filter featuring their Bitmoji caricatures. Less than a year later, on May 27, 2017, the lovebirds tied the knot in an intimate backyard ceremony at Spiegel’s Los Angeles home.
With only 30 guests in attendance, they ditched the bridal party and started their special day with a yoga session. And guess what? Kerr herself cooked their wedding feast—a mouthwatering slow-roasted chicken with turmeric and lemon that’s her hubby’s absolute favorite. Talk about a talented supermodel!
The couple’s priority was to create a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere for their loved ones. After all, who needs extravagant entertainment when you can simply hang out with the people who matter most? Cheers to love, laughter, and a happily ever after!
He shares two children with Kerr — and has another on the way
The couple actually have two children together. Their son, Hart Kerr Spiegel, was born on May 7, 2018, and they named him after Spiegel’s great-grandfather. They couldn’t contain their joy when they welcomed their beautiful son into the family, and Miranda is doing well. Flynn, their first child, is super excited to be a big brother. They’re grateful for all the kind words and well-wishes during this special time, as they shared with PEOPLE in an exclusive statement.
Their second son, Myles Kerr Spiegel, arrived on Oct. 5, 2019, just 17 months after Hart’s birth. And now, the latest news is that on Sept. 1, 2023, Kerr revealed that they’re expecting a third son. She even posted some cute Snapchat photos showing off her baby bump and a lineup of adorable shoes.
By the way, Kerr also has a son, Flynn, from her previous marriage to Bloom. Spiegel once mentioned in an interview with E! News that he and Flynn share a special bond. They even email each other, using lots of emojis. How cool is that?
Spiegel couldn’t help but reflect on how becoming a dad has transformed his life. He mentioned in an interview, “It’s impossible to describe. It’s a life-transforming event.” And now, he even has a dad grilling set, which he thinks is a positive addition.
Although their family of five keeps them busy, Kerr expressed in an interview with PEOPLE in February 2020 that she’s open to having more children, especially with her husband’s encouragement. She loves being a mother of three boys and feels blessed to have three healthy children. But she’s not sure yet if they’ll have more. Her husband definitely wants more, but she’s keeping an open mind.
Parenthood is truly an incredible journey for this couple!
He uses Kerr’s skincare line
Spiegel left quite an impression on his wife, but not just because he was cute. When they first met, she couldn’t help but notice his flaky skin. Thankfully, Kerr, the skincare guru behind KORA Organics, came to the rescue. She introduced him to her Noni Glow Face Oil, and now he’s obsessed! He won’t even leave the house without it.
Not only does Spiegel get exclusive access to try Kerr’s products before they launch, but he also has his own daily skincare routine. From the Turmeric Brightening and Exfoliating Mask to the Turmeric Glow Moisturizer, his dry skin is finally getting the nourishment it needs. Who knew that behind that tech genius lies a man with flawless, rejuvenated skin?
Kerr encouraged him to lead a healthier lifestyle
Not only did Kerr share her skincare secrets with Spiegel, but she also inspired him to embrace a healthier lifestyle. According to Kerr, when they first met, discussing health and wellness felt like speaking a foreign language. However, as they started dating, she introduced him to a different way of eating, minimizing junk food and showing him the benefits of a balanced diet. In fact, Kerr’s cooking and packed lunches for Spiegel became one of the reasons he fell for her.
Spiegel also shared a funny anecdote about a co-worker who predicted their marriage based on his changed eating habits. The co-worker depicted the transformation in a cartoon, from Spiegel bringing junk food to work every day to eventually carrying a little lunch box. It seems that Kerr’s influence extended beyond just food. She also introduced Spiegel to yoga and Kriya meditation, which he described as life-changing and now a cherished activity for their family.
Together, Kerr and Spiegel have not only built a loving relationship but also embarked on a journey towards better health and wellness.
He’s a philanthropist
Along with his wife, Spiegel co-founded the Speigel Family Fund back in 2017. Their mission? To make a positive impact in areas like arts, education, housing, and human rights causes in L.A.
Fast forward to May 2022, when this awesome couple made a “significant donation” to the Otis College of Art and Design in L.A. The best part? It’s going to help repay the outstanding student debt of students in the graduating Class of 2022! How amazing is that, right? 🎓
In a statement, Spiegel and his wife expressed their admiration for the extraordinary institution that is the Otis College of Art and Design. They believe it’s a place where young creatives can find their artistic voices and thrive in various industries and careers. They feel privileged to give back and support the Class of 2022, hoping their gift will empower graduates to pursue their passions, make a difference in the world, and inspire humanity for years to come.
But that’s not all! Spiegel also showed some love to his alma mater in 2020. His donation helped create a permanent source of funding for the Black Community Services Center and Ujamaa House. Talk about making a lasting impact!
