Arthdal Chronicles Season 3, There is a cloud of uncertainty hanging over the possibility of a third season for the Arthdal Chronicles. Unlike the first season, the second does not hint at a continuation. Apart from being a demanding series to produce, we question the need to wait indefinitely for another season as we did for the prior one. With Tagon’s demise and the prophecy’s fulfillment, the prospect of a third season appears hazy. If it does come to fruition, a more suitable approach may be to limit it to 6-7 episodes wrapping up the story arcs of Saya and Taelha. Furthermore, any change in the cast could be disheartening. The acceptance of Lee Joon Gi as Saya and Eunseom was unexpected, but we doubt our readiness to embrace another change.
What is in store for Saya?
In the final scenes, we see Saya on a ship as Tanya emerges from a year-long coma post-war. Presumably, Saya is aware of her survival due to his connection with Eumseom. Saya, being a resilient character, would have found a way back to Arthdal, if desired. Despite his love for Tanya, he informs Neanthal about her perceived death. Is it because he realizes Tanya will never be his with Eunseom in the picture again? Saya’s ambitions oscillate between Arthdal and Tanya, the latter primarily driven by his affection for her.
Now that Tanya is no longer a possibility, and considering his lack of emotional support from the Neathals, his focus seems to shift entirely to Arthdal. However, with his character’s unpredictable nature, surprises may be on the cards. Saya isn’t a villain or an anti-hero. His choices may not always be righteous, but he deserves love and tranquility. Could these be found with the Ikomahis? We know little about their quest or what the Neanthals want from him. Their goal might be to conquer Arthdal, which aligns with Saya’s current ambition. But there could be more. Perhaps, the Neanthals could secure acceptance in Arthdal, just like the Igutus, thereby averting any potential conflict. Saya might be the key to this if he finds love and a new cause to fight for.
We hope Saya finds true love and success in it. While self-love and self-acceptance are important, finding companionship, especially for a character who has struggled to gain acceptance, could be beneficial. We hope Saya finds his peace, and with it, goodness. That should be the focus of Arthdal Chronicles season 3, and a reunion might just be icing on the cake.
Could Taelha Seek to Rule Arthdal?
In Arthdal Chronicles, Taelha stands out as a powerful character, always managing to stay a step ahead. Her thirst for power fuels her every action, convinced that it’s essential for survival. As the show progresses, we see her constructing her own realm, years later. Either she hasn’t waged any war against Arok, which could be due to her care for his safety or perhaps to protect him from a place where Igutus are not well-received. It’s intriguing to think Taelha might be the author of Arthdal Chronicles as their narratives favor the victorious. She wouldn’t narrate a tale of her defeat unless it’s not the end.
Considering Taelha’s plan to assault Arthdal and Saya’s similar intentions, they might form an uneasy alliance or end up fighting each other due to their competitive nature. Moreover, Arok’s inherent leadership qualities make us wonder whose side he will choose in the forthcoming Arthdal Chronicles season 3. His character development would be fascinating to watch.
The Status of Eunseom and Tanya
Although royal power can shift swiftly, governance is a different ball game. Eunseom and Tanya, now rulers of Arthdal, have a tough journey ahead. In Arthdal Chronicles season 3, they are likely to bring some fragile stability to their kingdom, which may be threatened by the destructive plans of Saya and Taelha. It would not be surprising if Eunseom and Tanya have a child, making Saya an uncle. This child could become the reason for Saya to reconsider his decision to destroy Arthdal.
The Anticipated Release of Arthdal Chronicles Season 3
Predicting the exact release date of Arthdal Chronicles Season 3 is quite challenging, but one thing’s for sure, it won’t likely take another four years. Such a prolonged gap is detrimental for most television series, often resulting from issues unrelated to production such as rights disputes. Assuming that Arthdal Chronicles is set to continue its journey with Disney for a considerable period, the only delay to the third season would be the production time. The show’s grand scale and intensive nature signify it’s neither easy nor economical to produce. Therefore, a pragmatic projection would place the release towards the end of 2024 or even as far as 2025.
