I’m Kat Cunning, a multi-talented artist known for my skills in singing, songwriting, and acting. As a versatile performer, I find it challenging to describe my unique sound, but it has been described as a captivating blend of alternative and pop genres. Born under the zodiac sign of Scorpio, I hail from both Oregon and New York, bringing a diverse range of influences to my craft. Fun fact about me: I have the impressive ability to form the Star Trek sign with my toes. With my preferred pronouns being they/them, and if you’d like, you can even address me as Dad. Get ready to embark on a journey through my artistry and experience a world of creativity and self-expression.
I always loved singing, but while belting along to eighties radio in the car as a teen, my family advised me to stick to my day job. Secretly, I adored Mariah Carey and Justin Timberlake, and publicly, I dreamt of being a Backstreet Boy. In New York, I discovered my passion for blues and neo-soul, singing on subway platforms during my commutes, making sure nobody could hear me when the trains passed by. It’s hard to pinpoint when my love for music began, but the New York Times’ endorsement during my singing debut with a dance company definitely jumpstarted my career.
Passion for arts

I wrote “Could Be Good” with Amy Wadge over Zoom in three hours, and most of my released songs have followed a similar process. Trusting my instincts, I follow the melody’s path.
I am thrilled to be collaborating with the Allied Coalition for and Republic Records on a special project called ‘Give A Yes!’ for Pride. This initiative serves as a powerful platform to share messages of support and love for queer youth and anyone who may be in need of it.
In addition to this exciting endeavor, I am also deeply engaged in my writing pursuits, currently working on a pride-themed project alongside the talented artists of Shaed. Furthermore, I am delighted to announce that I will be performing at the renowned Faena, showcasing my passion and dedication to my craft.
