Is Lil Mosey in Jail? The Truth Has Finally Come to the Surface

Date:

A jury, as reported on Thursday has exonerated the renowned rapper Lil Mosey, recognized for his hit “Krabby Step,” of second-degree rape charges. This news was first publicized on Blavity. As per TMZ, Lathan Echols, known by his stage name Lil Mosey, was cleared of all accusations succeeding a polygraph test, which he passed exceptionally well. The allegations could have resulted in a life sentence if proven guilty.

These charges were based on accusations made by two women in 2021 who alleged that he, along with another man, had sexually assaulted them while staying in a cabin. The police documents state that one woman admitted to having consensual sex with him in a car but claimed to have blacked out after consuming White Claws and champagne in the cabin. She alleges she woke up to find him sexually assaulting her, followed by a similar incident with a second man after another blackout. According to the affidavit, this woman had noticeable bruising on her arms, inner knee, and neck.

The second woman’s affidavit as per Daily Mail, states that she was 20 years old when she attended the cabin party. She alleges that she woke up from drinking to find Lil Mosey sexually assaulting her, even though her memory of the incident is blurry.

Throughout the case, Mosey maintained his innocence and was eventually cleared of all charges. He willingly took two polygraph tests, passing both before the trial. Despite two years of investigation and evidence, prosecutors were not willing to accept his innocence. His lawyer Shane O’Rourke commented on this matter, stating that Mosey was entirely vindicated and should never have been prosecuted, as reported by XXL. Mosey posted a video on Instagram celebrating his acquittal in court with a caption conveying his relief that truth finally surfaced after two tumultuous years.

Rape Allegations and Arrest Warrant for Rapper Lil Mosey

In January, two women attended a party hosted by Lil Mosey and alleged that they were raped by him and another guest. Consequently, an arrest warrant was issued against him by Washington State. The rapper, whose real name is Lathan Moses Stanley Echols, failed to attend his court hearing scheduled for April 21, as indicated by court records.

The nineteen-year-old rapper was charged with second-degree rape based on allegations of sexual assault by two women at his cabin party in Lewis County, as stated in a police affidavit shared by PEOPLE. Mosey’s representative did not immediately respond to PEOPLE for comments on the accusation.

One woman claimed to have lost memory after consuming White Claws and champagne, as mentioned in the affidavit. She vaguely remembers waking up in her undergarments and hearsay about a video of her having sex but cannot recall any specific incident of rape. She does remember engaging in consensual sex with Mosey in a car but claims the sex was non-consensual and forceful when they proceeded to an upstairs bedroom. She had unexplained injuries including bruises on her neck, arm, and inner knee.

Francisco Prater, the other man involved in the incident, also has an arrest warrant for failing to show up in court on Wednesday. His legal representative has not been identified for comments yet.
