Leeya was born on 28th January 2014 in Los Angles, California, somewhere around at 6:19 pm. She weighed around 7 pounds, 9 ounces and was 21 inches tall at the time of her birth.
Mor spent 26 hours in labor, before Leeya was actually born. Because of such a tedious pregnancy and that the couple welcomed their first child after six years of marriage, Ben and Mor were quite thoughtful when naming their daughter. They choose ‘Leeya’ which means ‘I am the Lord’s’ in Latin/Hebrew language. Surprisingly the name also has Islamic meaning. In the said language, it means ‘Beautiful, Intelligent and Ambitious’.
The couple joy about their first daughter soon turned into a worry. Leeya started sporting signs of illness when she was months old such as lethargy, bluish skin and lack of weight. Concerned, Ben and Mor immediately consoled a doctor.
Turns out, Leeya was suffering from a congenital heart disease which was detected on the atrial septum. In simple terms, it meant that she had a hole in her heart. A surgery needed to be done, as soon as possible.
Leeya was then admitted into Children’s hospital, where she was to undergo an open-heart surgery. The surgery was done by the same doctor who operated on Jimmy Kimmel’s son.
The surgery was successful, much to intense relief of the Shapiros. After that, Leeya made an incredible comeback and is now leading a very healthy life.

Leeya has a very interesting family to begin with. For starters, both her parents are highly qualified and are doing jobs in their respective fields. And that, both practice Orthodox Judaism.

Ben Shapiro
Ben Shapiro was born on 15 January 1984 in Los Angeles, California. His ancestry is a mix of Russian and Lithuanian. Ben’s father was a composer while his mother was an executive on a TV company.
Ben did his degree on political science from University of California (UCLA). He then pursued for a law degree in Harvard Law school. After attaining Juris doctorate there, Ben started working for the Goodwin Procter company as a lawyer.
Later on, he founded his own private practice in LA, naming it ‘Shapiro Legal Consulting’. Aside from lawyer work, Ben writes columns for various newspapers and magazine like Newsweek or Ami Magazine. His writings paved out an another route for him in career. For sooner than expected, he was working as an editor for Breitbart News. He wrote nine books in total, all on the subject of Politics.
It was like a chain reaction. That is, Ben working as a magazine editor led him to open his website ‘The daily wire’ where news and opinions are exchanged and published. In addition to this, he also hosts a political podcast ‘The Ben Shapiro Show’.

Mor Shapiro
The exact date isn’t known but Mor Shapiro was born in 1988 in Herzliya, Israel. Her ancestral roots belong from Morocco.
Mor Shapiro was at first studying in She Sha’arei Mishpat College before switching her field. She studied Behavioral Neuroscience from University of California. Then she became a medicine student at David Geffen School of Medicine in UCLA.
After completing her medical degree, Mor released two publications which were about the research on motherhood and children. Mor Shapiro completed her medical residency at Kaiser founder hospital in Los Angeles.
Despite stark differences such as Ben being public about his private life and Mor doing the complete opposite of it, Ben and Mor married each other on 8 July 2008 in Acre, Israel.
And after six years, they welcome their first child; Leeya Eliana Shapiro.
